Class Descriptions
STORY BALLET CLASS - A fun way for girls and boys to learn basics of
ballet using correct French terminology. Taught in the form
of an original story this class develops memory skills, imaginative thinking and musicality.
BALLET - Classical ballet technique. Graded classes include barre and center work with adagios,
turns, jumps and combinations developing into dances.
POINTE - For advanced students only who have developed strength, alignment and control. This class is in addition to
the regular ballet class. With directors approval only.
JAZZ - Jazz techniques from Broadway and television. Include warm
up, stretches, combinations across the floor.
TAP - Fundamentals of tap dance, build tap skills and musicality
with combinations and dances to upbeat music.
LE WORKOUT - A half hour non impact exercise program to dynamic
music using stretching, Pilates and Jazz dance exercises to strengthen back, abdominals and work on circulation.
TEENY TINY BALLERINA - A creative program for
young students that develops imagination, social skills and confidence through a lightly structured ballet class, songs and movement skills across the floor.
TU TU TOT - A class for young children combining elementary
ballet and simple stretching and acrobatics
BOYS POWER -- Using dance technique this boy's class develops strength and physical coordination for jumps, leaps and turns essential for sports. Wear T shirts, sweats and sneakers.
MODERN - The techniques of Horton and Graham, contracting, dropping, releasing
and movements across the floor.
LYRICAL - Using a combination of ballet, modern and jazz technique to express the lyrics of a song.
HIP HOP - An urban street dance form utilizing jazz, fast footwork and free style movement to dynamic high energy music.
